Office on Aging publishes the Senior Services Directory, a free comprehensive resource guide to services for Blount County seniors.  The newly released Senior Service Directory is available at the Blount County Community Action Agency office along with other community locations which include:  Blount County Chamber of Commerce, Blount County Public Library, Blount Memorial Hospital, and from the directory sponsors.  Click below for the new directory.

The Office on Aging also has large-print editions of the Medicare 2012 handbook and also Spanish versions available free to any senior.  Contact Joani Shaver at 983-8411 ext. 25 for a copy.

One of the types of calls that we receive through our Office on Aging relates to Caregiver Stress.  Often caregivers do not realize there are ways to recognize the signs and symptoms of Caregiver Stress and steps they can take to reduce that stress.  Click here for a Fact Sheet on 10 Signs of Caregiver Stress

During the recent months of damage from storms, winds, and hail, many seniors are faced with hiring contractors to repair or remodel their homes.  Legal Aid of East Tennessee developed a helpful list of steps to consider when hiring a contractor.  Click here for a copy of “Don’t Get Cheated When you Repair or Remodel your House”
