| The original Economic Opportunities Act of 1964 provided for the establishment of community action agencies across the United States with a mission of helping low-income individuals and families become more self-sufficient. Since 1965, Blount County Commuity Action Agency has joined with local, state, federal and private sector partners and volunteers to help our Blount County neighbors meet a variety of needs. Community action employees, board members and volunteers are dedicated to the principle of helping people help themselvesThe community action standard is: "Helping People. Changing Lives." The mission of Blount County Community Action Agency is to provide specific services and develop resources to help people achieve self-sufficiency and independence within our community. In fulfilling its mission, BCCAA helps to improve living conditions and helps to protect and promote the individual dignity of the elderly, of the disabled, and of those families with low and moderate incomes. Blount County Community Action Agency is a public, charitable, non-profit 501(c3) corporation serving the citizens of Blount County. |
